Brush Station - Cross
When coating must be applied to materials with contamination on the coating side, it is wise to brush this contamination off the material. If the treatment requires extreme accuracy, a Cross Brush can be used, equipped with a sword brush from manufacturer Wandres.
With this brush system, the brushes work perpendicular to the feed direction. The effectiveness of the sword brush lies in the innovative Ingromat® technology. With every new tour, the brush is provided with the Ingromat® liquid that has both antistatic and adhesion properties. As a result, all particles are retained in the hair of the brush and subsequently sucked out of the brush in the station.
The sword brush can be made single or double and you can choose between a one-sided or two-sided cleaning.
Brush Station – Round
When coating must be applied to materials with contamination on the coating side, it is wise to brush this contamination off the material. When intensity of the brushing process is important, Maan recommends a Round Brush. With this brush system, the brushes work in the direction of the feed direction. The Round Brush brushes the dirty particles upwards, where they are extracted.
When coating must be applied to materials with a low surface tension, such as plastic, it is advisable to pre-treat this material with Corona Treatment. The advice regarding surface tension for good adhesion is between 20 and 35 degrees. Corona Treatment is a high-frequency electrical discharge that, as it were, opens the "hands" of the material. The treatment results in an improvement of the chemical connection between the molecules in the panel to be coated and the hot melt. This allows the hot-melt coating to adhere better to the material. This surface treatment leaves the strength and appearance of the panel to be coated unchanged.
When coating is applied to relatively cold materials, it is advisable to pre-treat these materials by infrared heating, or IR heating. The recommended temperature for good adhesion of hot melt on a panel is between 20 and 35 degrees. A major advantage of IR heating is that no long start-up times are required. Compared to conventional drying and heating technologies, this saves a lot of time.
